Projects
SlServ:
SlServ is short for SecondLife Server. This project is an open source effort to create a link between irc and SecondLife. The project is entirely coded in java and is compatible with unreal3.2. Right now I am the only developer but maybe someday I can get more people to join the project. The project started after I was inspired by the system created by a friend on another irc network. That system was all closed up so I decided to create my own for my own irc network. (irc.darkdna.net (which I help run with purrdeta and selig)). The system is not very complete seeing as there are massive security holes that I have not yet patched up. Though seeing as Helixoide SlServ is early alpha software at most, that is most likely to change. Also with SlServ the protocol used to communicate between second life and IRC is a bit jumbled but it made sense to me at the time. If people start working on it i might try and standardise things a bit. Though getting people to work on it seems a bit unlikely.
Helixoide Sim Control Bot:
This was created out of need for a bot to control the Solarian Republic Sim in Second Life. My Good Friend Raithsphere wanted a system that could control various features of the sim from IRC, or elsewhere. So I created this bot to handle the interaction with the sim. Currently it has two main features. Feature 1: It has an API that lets it do timed restarts of the sim. Feature 2: It can freeze anyone on the sim for an indefinite period of time. Depending on what Raithsphere needs the system to do I will add features.
Helixoide Proxy System
A project started as an end of the year project for computer science. It eventually evolved into a full featured http proxy. It is written in java and hosted on sourceforge. Development of this project is currently suspended due to a lack of interest by the key developer, aka the only developer Posiden (aka intensely, Ross).
HxNet
A peer to peer file sharing system. It is hopefully going to be like the bastard child of bit torrent gnutella and dropbox. It is being designed to fit a smaller scale then other p2p networks. In the end it should allow users to join a collective filesystem which has download capabilities similar to bit torrent and gnutella. Current this project only has a protocol draft. Here is the link
